Why Not, Indeed?

Cartoon panels with person and robot and commentary

The image accompanying this article is from part of the work at https://www.smbc-comics.com/comic/wonder-2, © Zach Wienersmith, and appears here as fair use, commentary, because: Boy! Do I have comments on the state of AI development.

The recurring robot character(s) at Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal serve a purpose: comedy. And that's good, because otherwise, they would depress me. Not that the characters themselves are depressing, but because of the commentary on the idiocy and short-sightedness of humanity in general, and the same from developers, especially roboticists, in particular.

"No Trust, No Robots!"
